Seventh At Lake Ozark Sets Hahn Up For Hockett/McMillin At Lucas Oil Speedway

SAPULPA, Okla. (September 18, 2017) Taking the weekend to continue testing setups on the Griffith Truck and Equipment/Engler No. 52, Blake Hahn ventured to Lake Ozark Speedway in Eldon, Mo. with the Speedway Motors ASCS Warrior Region presented by Impact Signs, Awnings, and Warps with a seventh-place result.
Hahn’s 41st Top 10 on the season, the team started off with a third-place finish in Heat Race competition, putting Blake just shy of the redraw for the feature event with the No. 52 starting 10th on the grid of a caution ladened 25 laps.
“There were plenty of cautions on Saturday night so it made it tough to get into a rhythm,” commented Blake. “The track was slick all the way to the wall so if you wanted to make a pass, you had to dive-bomb the car in front of you and several times, it just didn’t work out, so to come out with a seventh-place finish, I was happy.”
On the car and what the team is trying, Hahn replied, “There are a few things we’ve been working on. Just trying to find more speed and get our suspension dialed in. Racing with the Warrior Region really gives you a good base. Those guys are tough so if you can race well, and run up front, you’re doing alright.”
For the coming weekend, the team will head to Lucas Oil Speedway for the 7th annual Hockett/McMillin Memorial.
“This is one of those events that you have to experience. Lucas Oil Speedway is such a great facility, and they do such a great job with the track. Outside of Knoxville, this event is the one we prepare for all season.”
