Wilson Joining World of Outlaws at Lakeside and Lake Ozark This Weekend

Inside Line Promotions – WAYNESFIELD, Ohio (Oct. 16, 2019) – Greg Wilson is heading to the Midwest this weekend to join the World of Outlaws NOS Energy Drink Sprint Car Series for a doubleheader.

Wilson and his Hercules Tires, DNC Hydraulics, Ohio Logistics and Gear Off Road backed team will venture to Lakeside Speedway in Kansas City, Kan., on Friday for the FVP Platinum Battery Showdown and to Lake Ozark Speedway in Eldon, Mo., on Saturday for the Jason Johnson Classic presented by FK Rod Ends.

“I feel like from every race here on out we’re not afraid to try stuff,” he said. “We’ll try to build and learn for next year to fix some of the issues we’ve had.”

First up, Wilson has Hercules Tires dealership visits this Wednesday at Shadden Tire Pros in Crossville, Tenn., and Thursday at Tires & More in Russellville, Ala., from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. each day.

Wilson was able to make one start last weekend when he tackled the 2nd annual Bob Hampshire Classic at Waynesfield Raceway Park.

“We qualified second quickest in our group and were leading our heat when we slid off the track,” he said. “I was too free and just overdrove it. I slid across the cushion and off the track. We finished fifth and missed locking into the main event by one.”

Wilson rebounded by winning the B Main. He then gained a trio of positions to finish 14th in the FAST Series main event.

“The track was pretty narrow,” he said. “It rained and they had it packed down pretty good. They had more cars than anticipated, too. It ended up taking rubber partway through the feature. The beginning of the race was pretty racy and then it got one lane. The track did all the right things. It was just part of it.”
