Kerry Madsen Nets Sixth-Place Finish During World of Outlaws Race at Lakeside

Inside Line Promotions – ELDON, Mo. (Oct. 22, 2019) – Kerry Madsen highlighted a World of Outlaws NOS Energy Drink Sprint Car Series doubleheader with a sixth-place run last Friday at Lakeside Speedway.

The KI Crossbows sponsored Big Game Motorsports competitor opened the night at the oval in Kansas City, Kan., by qualifying 15th quickest. He then advanced from fourth to third place in a heat race before maneuvering from 11th to sixth in the main event.

“We didn’t qualify very well, but we had a great race car in the A Main,” he said. “Unfortunately, double-file restarts really hurt us. Otherwise we had a podium car. I passed two or three cars and then on double-file restarts I’d lose them so I’d have to pass them back.”

It marked his 27th top 10 of the season and 13th during World of Outlaws action.

The weekend wrapped up on Saturday at Lake Ozark Speedway during the Jason Johnson Classic presented by FK Rod Ends. Madsen timed in 18th quickest, placed sixth in a heat race and charged from 18th to 11th in the A Main.

“We drew early and the track was really greasy from the rain,” he said. “We just didn’t qualify very good. In the A Main the track was narrow and hard to do much. We slowly made some progress and nearly got to the top 10.”

Madsen will join the World of Outlaws at Port Royal Speedway in Port Royal, Pa., this Friday and Saturday for the Nittany Showdown.

“We had really strong race cars when we were there last month,” he said. “Hopefully we can carry something into it. I feel pretty confident and feel like we should be strong.”
