Daniel Excited to Invade Lake Ozark Speedway for World of Outlaws Event

Inside Line Promotions – PEVELY, Mo. (May 27, 2020) – Mason Daniel has found memories of Lake Ozark Speedway, where he will return to action this weekend during a World of Outlaws NOS Energy Drink Sprint Car Series doubleheader.

Daniel ended last year by tying his third-best result during World of Outlaws competition at the oval in Eldon, Mo., where he placed 18th at the Jason Johnson Classic in October.

“We finished strong last year with how we had the car,” he said. “We figured out what would work. It’s nice going into this weekend where we can look back at it and have a good place to start. Plus it’s a confidence boost when you go back to a track where you felt like you did well and learned a lot the last time.”

Daniel continues to lead the World of Outlaws Rookie of the Year Award standings entering the two-day show on Friday and Saturday. The car count for this weekend’s event will be more similar to a regular event in the 30s rather than the 60-plus drivers who tackled a two-day event at Federated Auto Parts Raceway at I-55 last weekend.

“It’s hard when there’s that many cars there because it’s like the Knoxville Nationals every night,” he said. “You have to be on point from the start and if you aren’t it shows up really quickly.”

Daniel improved his results throughout his debut at the high-banked track, qualifying better and ending the night with a better feature outing from Friday to Saturday.

“I think we got better as the weekend went on,” he said. “I like that track. It was something new and challenging. I enjoyed it. I look forward to whenever we get the opportunity to go back so that I can apply everything I learned.”
